About Dr. Gena Wickes

Dr. GenaWickes was born in Houston, TX and grew up in Fort Worth, TX. Born prematurely, Gena had many difficulties with asthma, allergies and illness growing up. She wanted to be a doctor since the age of 7 because she was around them so often. Gena began her pre-med studies at Abilene Christian University and after transferring to the University of Texas, received her B.A. degree in psychology 1989. Upon moving to Dallas, she became a Clinical Research Coordinator in the Department of Ophthalmology at UT Southwestern until becoming a full-time mom to Avery (14) and Julia (12) in 1997.

Asthma, allergies and, after pregnancy, migraine headaches became weekly, often daily occurrences for Gena. She was on several medications and never seemed to feel better. One day while in bed with a migraine, Gena reached for the phone and strained her neck. Unable to turn her head or get in to see her doctor, a friend recommended a chiropractor.  Like most people unfamiliar with chiropractic, she was skeptical of what to expect. However, after only one adjustment, she was able to turn her head a third of the way and after two adjustments, had full range of motion once again.  Gena continued to see the chiropractor and noticed she no longer had asthma attacks, allergies or migraines. With her research background, she wanted to know how adjusting the spine could affect respiratory illnesses and headaches. Upon her divorce in 2006, she went to Parker College of Chiropractic and received her Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree in April 2009.

Board Certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, Dr. Gena will be seeing patients by appointment only. She is Webster Technique Certified for pre-natal care and, as a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA), is working towards her certification in chiropractic pediatrics. Nutrition is also an integral part of the chiropractic care you will receive. Dr. Gena looks forward to caring for you and your family.

Dr. Gena Wickes can be reached by cell at 214-684-6863 and will see patients by appointment only.
